Habich  recorded  this  medal  without  giving  a  provenance.  Litta  had  earlier  noted  that  such  a  medal  was  in  the
collection  of  the  Museo  di  Milano 299 .  The  Raccolte  Archeologiche  e  Numismatiche  at  Milan,  which  now  is
combined  with  that  formerly  in  the  Brera,  does  not  possess  such  a  medal 300 .  No  examples  of  this  medal  are  known
to  me.  Neither  Litta  nor  Habich  noted  the  numerous  Fortuna  medal  with  the  portrait  of  Gianfrancesco  in  Roman
costume,  yet  Habich  illustrated  two  identical  portraits  of  Antonia  del  Balzo  and  Litta  two  of  the  youthful
Gianfrancesco.  One  speculates  whether  an  error  could  have  been  made  or  perpetuated.

Obverse:  -DIVAI  IVLIA-PRIMVM-FELIX-  (around;  triangulär  stops)
Profile  bust  of  woman  facing  right.  Her  wavy  hair  covers  her  ears  and  is  drawn  to  the  back  of  her  head  where  it
is  constrained  by  bands,  surrounded  by  a  braid,  and  decorated  by  pearls.  Small  curls  are  at  the  back  of  her  long
neck,  which  is  crossed  by  a  double  string  of  pearls.  Over  a  pleated  undergarment  appears  to  be  a  shawl  with  an
animal  head  or  mask  which  gathers  together  the  material  at  her  right  side.  Pearled  border

Above  an  exergue  filled  with  military  and  naval  trophies  rages  a  battle  of  three  nude  men  against  three  amazons.
The  men  appear  to  have  the  upper  hand  as  the  amazon  to  the  left  is  being  pulled  from  her  horse;  to  the  right  a
warrior  is  closing  in  upon  a  Standing  amazon  carrying  a  shield  emblazoned  with  a  thunderbolt;  in  the  center  is  an
amazon  on  her  knees,  her  fallen  horse  beside  her.  She  tries  to  ward  off  a  warrior  who  has  a  drawn  dagger.  Left  at
the  feet  of  the  struggling  figures  is  a  cuirass  and  in  the  center  a  fallen  amazon.  On  the  profiled  groundline  is
inscribed  ANTICVS.  Pearled  border
